Rules For Entrants

  • Cider or perry entered must be made from whole juice from British apples or pears by UK producers who are retailing cider / perry.
  • Participating cider makers must be producing 3000L – 50,000L of cider/perry per year.
  • 2x 500ml (or equivalent) bottles as dressed for retail sent via post and delivered by 13th March 2023.
  • If you are shortlisted then we will ask you to send another 2 x 500ml or equivalent bottles as dressed for retail and a (guideline) 300 word description of the cider company covering history and ambitions by 14th April 2023.
  • Producers are allowed 1 entry in total. This entry should be the cider that best represents you.
  • Entries open Jan 2023.
  • Entries close 28th Feb 2023.
  • Shortlisted winners will be contacted by 31st Mar, 2023.
  • The winners will be announced in May 2023.
  • The entry form must have all fields filled out. Where more information is required we will contact you.
  • This is a free to enter competition. There are no entry fees to pay.
  • Entrants must be at least 18 years old on the day of judging.
  • Entrants are responsible for shipping/delivery of products. Organisers are not responsible for goods damaged in transit.
  • Entry boxes should be labelled ‘c/o Breakthrough Awards’ and sent to Sandford Orchards, Commonmarsh Lane, Crediton, Devon, EX17 1HJ.
  • Entries must arrive between 28/02/2023 and 13/03/2023.
  • We may need to use entrants company logos, names and info for promotional purposes. If you wish for us to not use your company information please inform us at the time of application.
