It’s a blend of the year’s best ciders, made with rare apples grown in old, old Devon orchards. It’s aged in vat, cask and foudre, then bottled at the moment when barrel and fruit marry perfectly and magic is created.
You’ll get intricate flavours of peach, vintage oak and sherry wine – try it with food and you’ll never look at wine again.

This is a very easy drinking cider great for a summers day I have purchased also the devon dry which I love too I prefer medium to dry and these are both excellent. Having given up wine which is often disappointing, I decided to try a local cider of a reasonable strength. The Reserve is not too sweet nor fizzy and goes nicely with any meal. I don’t chill it so the flavour is not lost.

Just one thing on the ordering process, you ask to leave a note if your not going to be in which I did, but delivery company said vendor didn’t allow it, so I had to arrange another delivery day, and signed a disclaimer with them about leaving it in an identified place if no one was in. Perhaps give permission to delivery company for this to happen on first time delivery.

I have drunk Devon Red for several years now but never tried this Sandford Reserve as it was more expensive. I have to say it is worth it – and a great cider to savour by a fire longingly. It’s stronger in alcohol too, of course, so although it’s more to buy you also need less of it.
I am always sceptical when descriptions talk about flavours but I could really taste the oak in the aftertaste, which lingered for a good 30-60 seconds in my mouth – and also a warming sherry taste for about 10 seconds.
Really lovely and I am looking forward to the rest of my case over Christmas!

Excellent ciders
Slightly more alcohol and more complex in flavour than the session ciders which are also good, but in my opinion the two slightly more expensive traditional ciders are well worth it.
Sandford Orchards are now my go to for cider purchases, the Sandford Reserve and the General are my favourites.
